The Trip

Mommy says we are going on a trip today. I am so excited because we don’t have money to go to nice places. Today is special because she had me wear my nice clothes and made sure I looked great.

It took a long time to get here. So many people. I never seen this many people before. My bag is with me, I have my favorite things. It’s a good day to spend with Mom. Just us, today.

She said I’m being so good and kissed my head like she likes to do. My hair looks nice today. She said, “Wait right here. Don’t move.” I’m going to be good. She will be proud.

I swing my legs, the chair is too big for me. But I like watching all the people go by. It’s kind of boring, but I’m trying to wait. I want her to be proud. I don’t want to get lost like I did that one time.

It is a bit scary here, I hope she is back soon. So many people going by, they seem to be in a hurry. I sit up straight and try to look nice. I wonder if she put some snacks in my bag. I’m hungry.

She always tries to take care of me. My baby sister is sick, and that makes me sad. But, I’m a good helper. I feel like I’ve been here all day. It is getting later now. I don’t have any more snacks.

When will she be back? Is she ok?
The clock has gone around so many times, it feels like forever.
Where is my mommy? Did she get lost?
Maybe I should get someone to help find her.
I want to go home. I know she loves me.
Mommy?
